This past week was my birthday… and what do we love more than free (or discounted!) treats on our birthday?! Here are some of my favorite birthday perks around town. Comment with your favorites, too!

For most of these, you’ll need to be a rewards member to receive the birthday perk, so be sure to sign up next time you’re in so you don’t miss out.

  • Lowcountry Olive Oil gives you a free 2oz bottle of oil or vinegar to redeem during the month after your birthday. We love using their flavored oils on salads, and it’s such a fun way to try a new flavor!

  • Coastal Coffee Roasters sends a special birthday code for 20% off your order, valid for two months. Their coffee is some of my favorite in Summerville, and their food and pastries are just as good.

  • Five Loaves Cafe gives you a free dessert on your birthday! They offered a cookie, brownie, or a gluten free raspberry almond tarte (which is what I enjoyed). This was a new perk I just found out about!

  • Publix offers a free pint, quart, or half-gallon of Publix or GreenWise ice cream, frozen yogurt, or nondairy frozen dessert — or a free Publix Bakery bar cake. Such a classic birthday win.

  • My personal favorite birthday perk is in Mount Pleasant at Burton’s Grill & Bar. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in the Lowcountry (with a fantastic kids’ menu!), and you get a free dessert during your birthday month. Their seven-layer chocolate cake is divine and they even offer gluten-free options. I redeemed mine on February 1st this year because I couldn’t wait! They also have key lime pie, cheesecake, and an affogato on the menu.

And we’ve linked 40 more birthday freebies that are actually worth it from chain restaurants and stores. Some Summerville favorites on that list include Crumbl Cookies, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Edible Arrangements, Krispy Kreme, Ulta, and Bath & Body Works.

Did we miss a great local birthday perk? Let us know!
