Summertime can be such a special season with slower mornings, longer days, and a break from the usual rush of getting everyone out the door. But for those of us with school-aged kids suddenly home every day, it can also feel like a big transition.
I’m already feeling the balancing act: keeping the kids entertained (while also encouraging them to entertain themselves), getting outside without completely melting in the heat, and finding that sweet spot between activity and rest. With my oldest just four, I still feel like I’m learning as I go, especially now with two active boys and a pregnancy that definitely limits my energy some days.
So I’d love to hear from you.
What are you doing to help your family thrive this summer? What routines or rhythms have worked well for you? How are you keeping your kids engaged without feeling like you have to plan something elaborate every day?
I love the idea of crafts and intentional at-home activities, but I also know I need simple, sustainable ideas for this season.
Drop your tips, routines, and favorite summer go-tos and help this momma out!
