My story: When I was struggling with breastfeeding my son, I worked with Sarah, the owner of Lactation Station and More, and it was truly a game changer. She made me feel heard, comfortable, and offered thorough, practical solutions to every challenge I brought to the table. Bringing a baby into the world is such a whirlwindβand when things donβt go as planned, it can feel overwhelming. Having the support of a well-qualified, compassionate team makes all the difference.
They are easily accessible for Summerville moms and also offer home visits, which is a total lifesaver in those early days. Honestly, I wish I had known about their services sooner. Itβs truly a blessing to have their support and expertise right here in our community.

Local Dubai Chocolate Treats
Dubai chocolate is that ultra-creamy, super-rich treat everyoneβs been talking aboutβand once you try it, youβll get the hype. Itβs usually made with high-quality European chocolate and filled with things like hazelnut, pistachio, or sweet cream. People love it because itβs next-level indulgent, often topped with edible gold or wrapped up in fancy packaging. Basically, itβs not just a sweetβitβs a whole experience. Lately more and more places have been adding Dubai chocolate inspired items to their menu and they sell out quick. Hereβs a few local places where you can try a Dubai chocolate treat.

Just this week Talucciβs added the Dubai stuffed croissant and lobster tail to the menu! So far theyβve sold out each dayβso if you want to try one soon, stop by early.

Charleston Mac Mama serves Dubai chocolate macarons, Dubai chocolate bars, and Dubai chocolate strawberry cups. Check her Facebook page to see what she has on the menu when sheβs open (Sunday-Tuesday) in the Knightsville Tea Room.

Swank Desserts has brought Dubai chocolate macarons back to the menu! Check the Facebook page for updates for when theyβll have them.
PALMETTO PIECE
Friendship in the Fullness of Parenthood
Friendship looks different now.
Itβs not lost on any of us β that shift from spontaneous coffee dates and long talks to carefully planned texts and quick waves across the school parking lot. Parenthood brings a beautiful richness to life, but it also stretches time thin. Conversations are often punctuated by snack requests and sibling squabbles. And letβs be honest β when your kid is hanging off your leg, itβs hard to feel emotionally available for much beyond bedtime.
But hereβs something thatβs become clear lately: our friendships, even in their altered form, still matter deeply.
Sometimes we feel insecure when the texts slow down or the hangouts feel harder to schedule. Itβs easy to wonder: Do they still want this friendship? Am I the only one missing it? But often, saying those words out loud β βHey, I miss youβ β is all it takes. More often than not, your friend feels the same way.
So how do we nurture these connections in this busy, beautiful season of parenting? Here are five ways to keep friendships strong as adult parents:
Say What You Feel
It sounds simple, but it takes courage. If you miss someone, tell them. If youβre feeling disconnected, share that. Vulnerability is the bridge to closeness, even in limited time.
Be Creatively Consistent
You may not have full weekends for hangouts, but you can do a walk after bedtime, a coffee drop-off, or a 10-minute phone call during lunch. Little things keep the connection alive.
Trade Off and Tag In
When your partner can hold things down at home, take the opportunity β even if youβre tired β to go spend time with a friend. One snack-filled, uninterrupted conversation can refresh you more than a nap.
Use the Village Youβve Built
Friendships among parents come with built-in helpers. Sometimes itβs okay to invite each other into the chaos β let the kids play while you catch up, even if you only get bits and pieces of a convo.
Assume the Best
We all know the guilt of unread texts and unanswered invitations. Life is full. But if we assume our friends still care even when itβs been a while, it gives us space to reconnect without resentment.
Friendship in parenthood may not be frequent or fancy, but it can be real, grounding, and deeply life-giving β even when all we manage is snacks and solidarity.
Love,
The Berks π¨βπ©βπ¦βπ¦
